Launching a Bionic Knee Brace to the World

Spring Loaded Technology - Blog - Why Indiegogo

After 3 years of research and development, today I’m excited to announce that we’ve launched orders for LevitationTM, the world’s first bionic knee brace.

What is Levitation and How Does it Work?

Levitation’s unique bionic hinge stores energy as you bend your leg and returns that energy as you straighten your leg. The result is a product that is carefully designed to augment leg muscle strength, reduce fatigue, prevent injury, and restore mobility. (Can’t wait to know more? You can read all about our technology on our Launch Page, here!)

Ready, Set, Indiegogo

Launching sales is a big moment for a company like ours. Scratch that: it’s a huge game-changing moment. It goes down as a significant milestone as we transition from a group of highly trained scientists and engineers doing extensive research and development, to a company that manufactures, sells, and distributes knee braces to people around the world. It gives a purpose to all of our hard work in the last three years (which has been described in other posts like this one), and means that the technology we’ve been developing can finally be put into the hands of all the people who need it.

We couldn’t be more excited. We’re ready, and with your help, we’re going to deliver on a product that makes a big difference in people’s lives.

How You Can Help Bring Bionics to the World

We’re launching on a website known as Indiegogo. Indiegogo is an online “crowdfunding” platform that serves as a launchpad for new and innovative technologies. Through Indiegogo, we can make our product known and available to people around the world. Maybe you’re wondering what crowdfunding is:

crowd·fund·ing

kroudˌfəndiNG/

noun:

The practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet. “Pledging” earns you “perks” that pertain directly to the product (i.e. a bionic knee brace) or perks that don’t (i.e. a t-shirt or a swag bag)

Why Crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is an effective way for startups to raise funds but also, equally important, to spread the word about innovative products that could change the world. It’s a platform that lets you order something for yourself, or alternatively, make a small donation to help bring a new technology like ours into the world.

The name of the game is volume. We don’t need a few people pledging a lot; we need a lot of people pledging a little. Equally important, we need people to share our campaign on social media to help spread the word. You can share our campaign from share icons on the left hand side of our campaign page here: goknees.com

Who is Eligible?

Everyone. We have options available for people who want to buy a knee brace outright, but we also have perks for people who just want to support the cause and help make bionic knee braces a reality.

Why should I Support Spring Loaded Technology?

Because you get to be a part of something profound, game-changing and even life-changing. Plus, for every $800 raised in donations (not inclusive of preorders), we’ll donate a brace to someone in need!

From all of us at Spring Loaded, Thank-you for your support. Now please head over to our Indiegogo page here and share it with everyone you know!
